Bernard Conilh de Beyssac
Bernard Conlih de Beyssac holds a Master degree in Environmental Sciences and more specifically in ecotoxicology from University of Ottawa, Canada. He worked during 7 years in the Canadian Federal Department of Environment, and at the Canadian Wildlife Service, in different positions. He worked two years in France in a decentralised public body managing the Dordogne catchment area, as Deputy Director, leading a multi-disciplinary team in the qualitative and quantitative management of water resources and the restoration of wetland ecosystems and threatened animal populations. Since 2000, he then had the opportunity to become involved in international development in various positions in West and East Africa, the Balkans and Cambodia, notably as an advisor on inclusive and sustainable rural economic development. Since 2018, Bernard has joined the HELVETAS team as a senior advisor in systems approach, with a desire to promote a more natural agriculture, based on agroecology and agroforestry. Bernard supports project implementation teams in the field and participates in various advisory support assignments.
