Helvetas works in more than 30 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe to bring about real change in the lives of over three million disadvantaged individuals each year through projects in water and sanitation, agriculture and nutrition, education, economic development, democracy, and peace. Additionally, Helvetas prioritizes initiatives related to Voice, Inclusion & Cohesion (VIC), Skills, Jobs & Income service (SJC), and Water, Food, and Climate (WFC). Emergency response services are also provided in times of disasters.
Helvetas Ethiopia has been operating in Ethiopia since 2003, working under an agreement with the government of Ethiopia. Our organization focuses on various areas, including rural infrastructure, natural resource management, support to CSO and local governments, skill development & education, and emergency response. Our main objective is to promote sustainable development and combat poverty. We prioritize local development, with a strong emphasis on skill development, access to quality services, resilience, inclusive economic development, and good governance & peace. To achieve these objectives, we collaborate with individuals from the public, private, and civil society sectors, actively partnering with regional and national NGOs, businesses, and governmental organizations at all levels.
