Aline Herrera

Aline Herrera has extensive experience in the areas of migration and human rights in both development and humanitarian contexts. Before joining Helvetas in 2023, Aline worked for several NGOs, including Save the Children (SCI), where she worked as Program Manager of the SDC-funded East African Migration Routes project based in Cairo, Egypt. As an expert member of SCI's Humanitarian Surge Platform, she has taken part in several short and mid-term deployments in fragile contexts, providing technical and operational support. Aline also has extensive experience with resource mobilization and knowledge management, as well as gender equality and social equity programming and conflict-sensitive program management. She holds a master’s degree in international history and politics from IHEID in Geneva, a Master of Advanced Studies in Development Cooperation from NADEL – ETH Zurich, and a certificate from the humanitarian operations program at Oxford Brookes University.
