Swiss expertise for a water secure world
Driven by its values of solidarity and integrity, the Swiss Water Partnership’s vision is to be recognized globally as a brand of high quality solutions for water security and to serve as the platform for water in Switzerland. The platform aims at contributing to the broader international water dialogue, strengthening the international profile of the Swiss water sector, and creating synergies between its members and international actors.
Priorities and main activities
The Swiss Water Partnership creates value for its members by acting as a cross sector innovation carrier, a knowledge setter and a knowledge hub. The platform’s activities and initiatives are centered around the following three pillars:
Strong Swiss Voice
The Secretariat coordinates and promotes Swiss high-quality solutions of Swiss stakeholders internationally aiming at preparing the ground to access international water projects, know-how matchmaking and bundling of cross-sector solutions (e.g. through the presence at major international conferences such as the World Water Forum or the yearly World Water Week in Stockholm).
Dynamic Learning
The Secretariat facilitates open spaces (e.g. working groups) allowing the members to exchange ideas and discuss burning issues in the water sector with stakeholders coming from other sectors and different areas of expertise.
Water Dialogue
The Secretariat provides space for a think tank to develop innovate cross-sector solutions for global water challenges and contributes with its members to shaping global water policies and their implementation/monitoring frameworks (e.g: The Swiss Water Partnership members contribute to the water target of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development in Switzerland and abroad in pilot countries).
Finally, the Swiss Water Partnership aims at contributing to improve project design by major sector actors leading to improved water management and service delivery. Thus, the Swiss Water Partnership continuously works towards a water secure world.
