VFBC Consultant for Sustainable Agricultural Training
The project "Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation" (VFBC) is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented for 5 years from July 2020 to June 2025. The project's objectives are to reduce greenhouse emissions, increase carbon sequestration from production forests that are natural forests and plantations in Vietnam, and conserve biodiversity in forest areas with high biodiversity value in the country.
Sub-Component 6, Component 2 of the project implemented by Helvetas Vietnam aims to improve livelihoods for communities living in buffer zones of national protected areas through promoting conservation-friendly enterprises and production. The 3 main groups of activities of Sub-Component 6 include: 1) Increasing incomes through developing sustainable, efficient, and forest-friendly NTFP and high-value agriculture value chains; (2) Increasing incomes & job generation through community-based ecotourism; and (3) Providing employment and income opportunities for hunters, illegal loggers, and their families.
In order to motivate the community to transform farming towards sustainability, contributing to the goal of agricultural ecosystem restoration and biodiversity conservation, Helvetas is looking for experts or groups of experts with in-depth practical experience on the topics of sustainable agricultural production to provide training for cooperatives and producer groups in the project area.
