After 4 years of implementation, the project “Improving the Livelihood of Ethnic Minorities through Community-based Tourism” funded by Helvetas Vietnam and implemented by Helvetas Vietnam’ strategic partners-the Center for Rural Economy Development has just ended by a Closing Ceremony on 10th August 2019 in Hoang Su Phi, Ha Giang
Attended the event was the presence of representatives of Helvetas Vietnam as the funding agency of the project, Hoang Su Phi and Cao Bang’s local authorities, homestay owners and tourism service providers in the project sites as well as Vietnamese reporters.
At the ceremony, the project introduced what has been done to develop community-based tourism sector in Ha Giang and Cao Bang and showcased good community-based tourism models to the participants.
Together with the ceremony, from 8th to 11th August 2019, the project organized an experience tour for tour operators, the media and related local authority representatives to visit the project sites in Hoang Su Phi.
Helvetas Vietnam is glad to see that the project has been implemented well and created considerable impacts to the local people in Hoang Su Phi and Cao Bang. With this project, Helvetas Vietnam wants to contribute to the effort to promote sustainable development and responsible consumption in Vietnam.
