During 13 - 16 November 2019, eight partner companies of the BioTrade SECO and BioTrade EU projects (Visimex, DACE, Hagimex, Vinasamex, Ecolink, TH Herbal, Ladophar and Vietmec) have been exhibiting at the BioTrade pavilion at the Vietnam FoodExpo 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Vietnam FoodExpo is annually organized by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade), Ministry of Industry and is one of the biggest international trade shows for the food industry in Vietnam with 600 booths of more than 400 companies from 29 provinces of Vietnam and 25 countries and territories worldwide. Participating in the show is a massive opportunity for the companies to introduce their BioTrade products and approach a large number of national and international buyers and visitors.
On 13 November, the BioTrade pavilion has welcomed the visit by Mr. Do Thang Hai, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade and Mr. Andreas Krey, General Director of Germany’s State Development Corporation of Thuringia. The BioTrade pavilion is a synergized effort by the BioTrade SECO and BioTrade EU projects, both implemented by Helvetas Vietnam, to support companies in promoting BioTrade products to domestic and international markets.
In a concurrent event at the Vietnam FoodExpo, in the same morning of November 13th, Mr. Mr. Andrew Wilson, Regional Manager of the BioTrade SECO Project has attended the Vietnam Food Forum 2019 on “Vietnam’s agricultural products – Proactively overcoming barriers to integration”. As a panelist, Mr. Andrew Wilson has discussed and suggested solutions to overcome integration barriers to Vietnam’s agricultural products.
Helvetas Vietnam is implementing 2 BioTrade projects funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the European Union (EU). With support from these donors, since 2012, Helvetas Vietnam has been promoting sustainable production and trade of natural ingredients of Vietnam.
