On 12 May 2017, the Government issued Decree No. 59/2017 / ND-CP on the management of access to genetic resources and benefit sharing from the use of genetic resources (hereinafter referred to as the Decree), which was formally introduced on July 1, 2017. The decree was issued to legalize the provisions of the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Equitable and Fair Sharing of Benefits.
In order to help private companies to have the better understanding of the Decree, in 25th May 2018, the Department of Biodiversity Conservation (Vietnam Environment Administration) in collaboration with Helvetas Vietnam and the Center for Rural Economic Development (CRED) organized the workshop.
