Angelo Gnädinger
Angelo Gnädinger is a lawyer with long-standing experience in the field of humanitarian aid. After finishing his degree, he worked in Schaffhausen for a few years as an examining magistrate. Starting in 1984, he worked in the Middle East and southern Africa on behalf of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), before taking on a position within ICRC as Head of Protection and Relief Efforts, during which he coordinated projects in many different crisis regions. He went on to serve as General Director of ICRC from 2002 to 2010. After this, he worked in the field of political mediation, including for the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue in Geneva, and took on the role of special envoy for the South Caucasus on behalf of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSZE). Today, Angelo Gnädinger sits on the board at cinfo and Swisspeace.
