From May 28th to June 3rd, 2022, Charity:water carried out a programmatic visit to HELVETAS Mozambique, in order to, among other strategic objectives, understand the activities developed and interact with the technical staff involved in activities related to the promotion of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Nampula and Cabo Delgado provinces.
The Charity:water mission also aimed to visit some local communities benefiting from water supply and hygiene and sanitation promotion initiatives developed under the partnership with HELVETAS, as well as to analyze the challenges and achievements of the program, including the strategic planning of future activities between the two organizations.
During the week-long visit, Charity:water represented by Senior Water Program Manager and Associate Senior Manager, Michaela Walsh and Amanda Cernovich, respectively, held meetings with World Vision and the Government of Mecubúri district in Nampula.
Charity:Water is the funder of the KALAI project which main objective is to promote Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene in rural areas and small towns. Since its implementation in 2018 until the present moment, the project has built 568 water sources (333 sources are rehabilitated) and 1 Water System in operation and another 3 in conclusive phase, benefiting a universe of 189.684 people.
