The YOU project continued its activity with conducting Youth trainings in Aravan on May 19-20, 2018. The youth group consists of thirty young people aged 15-29 that come from various backgrounds and occupations.
“If the first day is already so great, I can’t even imagine how the rest of the training will be! I already love all of it”, these were the words of Muhlisa, a training participant in Aravan.
The main goal of the core training is to let youth understand who they are and train them in self-awareness, self-value and self-confidence, to be able to better communicate and cooperate with others.
The training consists of a series of exercises in a form of a game followed by reflection and discussions. Each exercise has certain purpose that helps youth better realize their self-worth and uniqueness, while learning to accept the diversity of others.
After an exercise called “Self Portrait” where participants have to elaborate on their personal traits, goals and achievements, Mahloroi told “Previously, we were never asked this kind of questions, therefore, it was very hard to answer them, we had to dig deep”. According to the youth, the training exceeded their expectations, as they thought they will be just lectured and taught something. “You opened up our inner world and were like mirrors for us”, said Gulzoda, one of the participants, during the reflection session on the content of the day.
