Swiss "Cheber" Project Hosts GO-Model Training in Bishkek

From May 20 to 24, in Bishkek, the Swiss project “Cheber: Skills Development in Kyrgyzstan” hosted a training for trainers on the Swiss “GO-Model” methodology.

This methodology enabled the identification of a comprehensive set of essential workplace skills of employees, assessed their training needs, and developed an effective, practice-oriented training program. The GO-Model had proven its effectiveness in numerous countries where it had been implemented.

During the week-long training, 14 experienced trainers and experts from various industries, business associations, and companies learned how to apply the GO-Model methodology in the business environment of the Kyrgyz Republic. In the following months, these trained trainers were invited to provide further training and consultation to interested Kyrgyz companies, aiming to enhance the skills of existing personnel or train new employees.

The training was conducted by Cäcilia Märki, Head of the Department for the Development of Basic Competences for Adults of the Swiss Adult Education Association (SVEB).

The main goal of the Cheber project was to make advanced training and retraining courses accessible and relevant to the current and projected needs of employers. At the same time, the project aimed to support the professional and personal development of target groups, including the employed, underemployed, and unemployed population, with a focus on women and youth from vulnerable groups.
