The Course "Self-Knowledge and Personal Development" Opens New Opportunities for Teachers, Students, and Parents

On November 30, 2024, a roundtable discussion was held in Osh to review the results achieved and future plans for the course "Self-Knowledge and Personal Development." The event brought together education leaders, teachers, parents, and students, who shared their experiences and insights.

Bolot Imanaliev, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Science, highlighted the course's goal: fostering collaboration among schools, teachers, parents, and students. He emphasized that self-development is one of the most pressing issues of our time and assured that the ministry would fully support initiative of YOU Project of Helvetas. Nazira Sagynbaeva, a representative of the Republican Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Pedagogical Workers, underscored the course's success over the past four years as a large-scale project.

Participants shared how the course has positively impacted them:

    Fatima, student: "The course taught us to think independently and make our own decisions. We implemented projects aimed at solving local challenges and successfully won grants."

Teachers also reported improved relationships with their students. One teacher shared:

"One of my students was always silent. After participating in this course, he opened up and became more confident."

Participants proposed integrating the methodology into school work plans and developing specialized programs to enhance professional skills. The importance of engaging with young people was reiterated, with a focus on listening to their voices and supporting their initiatives.
