Empowering Families: GALS - Family Dreams Come True Conference
The “GALS - Family Dreams Come True” conference took place in Osh on May 19, 2023
GALS, which stands for Gender Action Learning System, is a methodology designed to identify and plan gender-sensitive events, fostering improved relationships among family members.
During the conference, participants had the opportunity to discuss the most successful examples of implementing the GALS method in the Alai and Chon-Alai regions. Additionally, the achievements of 23 GALS trainers in their respective areas were highlighted and celebrated.
Since 2022, the GALS method has been actively disseminated in the Alai and Chon-Alai regions. A specialized training program was conducted for selected instructors, resulting in the expansion of the method to reach 468 individuals, including 83 families.
The implementation of GALS events was made possible through collaborations with various projects, such as Bai Alai (Helvetas), Agrosooda (USAID), and Green Economy (GIZ). These partnerships have facilitated the promotion and advancement of the GALS methodology in the regions.
