Our Vision and Mission

our vision is of a just world which all men and women determine the course of their lives in dignity and security, using environmental resources in a sustainable manner.

About the Helvetas country program in Vietnam

Helvetas, founded in 1955, is the largest Swiss-based and a leading European development organization. We work in developing, emerging and transition countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe, partnering with poor and disadvantaged people to improve their livelihoods, strengthen local actors and create an institutional framework conducive to sustainable development.

Helvetas has been operating in Vietnam since 1994 in the areas of agriculture, forestry, governance, water and sanitation, and rural development. Today, Helvetas Vietnam’s country programme focuses on Sustainable and Inclusive Economies, Climate Change and Vocational Skills Development.

Transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the use of resources are the core principles of Helvetas’ commitment to quality.

Projects in Vietnam

Our topics in Vietnam

Education and Vocational Skills

Lack of education perpetuates inequality because poor countries cannot compete economically without a skilled workforce.

Private Sector Development

Youth need access to reliable, fairly paid jobs to break the cycle of poverty. Helvetas creates partnerships and promotes policies that build more inclusive economies.

Voice, Inclusion & Cohesion

In many countries where we work, men and women are unable to claim their rights and participate actively in decision-making processes.
